Today John and Reda talk about life in Japan.
When we think of Japan, we often think of stereotypes such as their lovely calming music.
But Japan is not all about stereotypes. Recently the country has faced some harsh criticism from a United Nations commitee.
Although Japan's rank among the world's economies is high, it scores very poorly on gender equality
The Committee on the Elimination of the Discrimination against Women, says that Japan is not doing enough to stop this discrimination and claim the country's efforts have been insufficient.
Many areas of concern were listed by the committee.
These included the low legal penalty for rape and the widespread availability of pornography.
They also noted the inequality of women in the workplace.
However, the committee noted that laws had already been put in place to promote gender equality and to encourage the promotion of women to senior level positions.
There was a call for immediate action on the unequal laws on marriage.
They want the legal age of marriage to be raised from 16 to 18 years old and the abolition of the six month waiting period before remarriage after divorce.
At the moment, both these laws only apply to women.
